Three Make CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for Lady Cougars
The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team had three members make the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for the NAIA.
Maggie Coe, Rylee Pireu, and Emily Walker each landed a spot on the team. To earn a place on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, one must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
Despite her season being cut short with an injury, Coe had a strong year. The senior nursing major from Cedarville, Ohio averaged 15.7 points per game in 2022-23. Coe finishes her MVNU career with 1,419 points, which ranks her ninth all-time in program history. Her 217 career threes are second all-time.
Another senior to make the cut is Pireu from Massillon, Ohio. The exercise science major averaged 12.5 points per game. Pireu finishes her career with 1,460 points, which is eighth all-time in program history. Pireu also ranks third all-time with 209 threes made.
Walker takes home the honor as well. The sophomore exercise science major from North Canton, Ohio averaged 5.4 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, all career bests. Walker also shot a career best 42.2% from the field and 39.5% from three. Walker's 3.7 assist to turnover ratio ranks first in the Crossroads League.
