Shawnee Community College District No. 531 Board Finance Committee met Jan. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A special meeting of the Shaawnee Community College District No. 531 Board Finance Committee was held on January 24, 2023, in the Founders Room. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, John Windings at 5:00 pm.

I. Call to Order

Chairperson Windings called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.

IV. Recognition of Guests and Public Comment

There were no public comments.

V. Action and Discussion Items

A. FY22 Audit Review – Martin Hood

Garrett Kerr, with Martin Hood, was available via Zoom for any additional questions. Chris presented a review of the FY22 Audit Results, highlighting pages 6, 7, 36, 51, and 62. Garrett reiterated there were no findings for the College.

B. Tuition Strategy & Planning

Chris presented an overview of strategies for tuition planning. The committee members will share with the entire Board during the regularly scheduled meeting on February 16, 2023.

C. Collective Bargaining

Chris shared an update on collective bargaining. Bargaining is continuing the week of January 24.

D. FY23 Budget Update

Chris shared updates to the current budget as well as the planning strateties currently under development of the FY24 budget.

VI. Adjournment

James made a motion to adjourn at 7:13 pm with a second by Dr. Taylor. All members voted in favor and the Chairperson declared the motion carried.
