Village of Minooka Board of Trustees met Feb. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Village President, Ric Offerman, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustees present: Gabriela Martinez, Barry Thompson, Dennis Martin, Terry Houchens, Dick Parrish and Robin White. Also present: Dan Duffy-Village Administrator, John Harrington-Village Treasurer, Chris Spesia-Village Attorney, Ryan Anderson-Superintendent of Public Works, Village Attorney-Chris Spesia, Village Engineer- Kevin Danko, Chief Justin Meyer, and Village Clerk-Orsola Evola.

Police Annual Report

This item was moved up in the agenda. Chief Meyer gave an overview of his annual report. The department has 8 new officers including a SRO Officer. In 2021, they incorporated a sports/gym in the sally port for officer wellness. License Plate Readers and a Drone were purchased. There have been no external or internal complaints.

Awards Presentation-Police

Chief Meyer gave a presentation and gratitude towards his Field Training Officers. They have trained our new officers for 32 weeks straight. Officer of the Year was presented to Officer Meece. Officer Meece has 23 years of experience as a detective, SRO and FTO. She was acknowledged for her public trust because of her quality of service that she’s provided. She goes above and beyond and volunteers at village events.
