Bluford Unit School District 318 Board of Education met April 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board President Steve Tate called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Upon roll call the following members were present: Crystal Marlow, Jessica Case, Jenny Sneed, Doug Shafer, Katelyn Lewis and Angela Schrum. Superintendent Dr. Shane Gordon, Kim McCormick were present. Visitors were Adam Cross, Jason Marlow and Hank Lewis. 

Motion: Sneed- "to approve minutes from April 20, 2023." 

Second: Lewis 

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED. 

Motion: Sneed- "to adjourn sine die at 6:02." 

Second: Lewis 

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED. 

Roll Call for new Board Member: Present: Crystal Marlow, Jessica Case, Jenny Sneed, Doug Shafer, Kaitlyn Lewis, Angela Schrum and Monica Marlow. No Public comment at this time. 

Motion: Schrum- "appoint President Pro Tempore Shane Gordon." 

Second: Sneed 

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED. 

Motion: Sneed- "to approve canvassing of election results for April 4, 2023." 

Second: Lewis 

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOITON CARRIED. 

Oath of office and swearing in for new board member Monica Marlow was done at this time. 

Doug Shafer made nomination for Jenny Sneed as President. Roll Call Vote: Yeas: C. Marlow, Case, Sneed, Shafer, Lewis, Schrum, and M. Marlow. 

Doug Shafer made nomination of Katelyn Lewis as Vice President. 

Roll Call Vote: Yeas: C. Marlow, Case, Sneed, Shafer, Lewis, Schrum, and M. Marlow. 

Jessica Case made nomination for Angela Lewis as Board Secretary. 

Roll Call Vote: Yeas: C. Marlow, Case, Sneed, Shafer, Lewis, Schrum, and M. Marlow. 

Motion: Schrum- "to approve times, place and dates of Regular Meetings." 

Second: Case 

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED. 

Motion: Case- "to appoint Kim McCormick as school treasurer." 

Second: C. Marlow 

Action: Roll Call Vote: Yeas: C. Marlow, Case, Shafer, Lewis, Schrum, M. Marlow, and Sneed MOTION CARRIED. 

Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED. 

Motion: Case- "to appoint the following committees (attached.)"
