SPECIAL MEETING – BOARD OF TRUSTEES & FOUNDATION BOARD BOARD OF TRUSTEES DISTRICT NO. 531
A special meeting of Shawnee Community College District No. 531 Board of Trustees and the Foundation was held September 7, 2023 in the River Room and via Zoom. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Tim Taylor at 6:58 pm.

III. Agenda & Addendums – Approved as presented.
ACTION – 1 A motion was made by April Moore and seconded by Tiffany Schultz to approve the Agenda and Addendums as presented. All members voted in favor and the motion carried.
IV. General Discussion on Shared Purpose & Philosophy
All attendees agree that the Foundation should be a separate entity but share in the purpose and strategic plan of the College.
V. Review Proposed Changes to the MOU/Contract
Discussion included setting up quarterly meetings to discuss common goals; cultivating an Executive Director to support the College’s mission while
understanding the need to “do business”; and receiving monthly updates for the Foundation Board in order to network.
VI. Team Comments
Members agree to have a few Foundation Board members (Jody, Jamie, and Patrick Windhorst) meet with John Schneider and Dr. Taylor to continue the review and edit of the proposed MOU that was received this date.

A motion was made by Nancy Holt and seconded by Enrico Esguerra to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. All members voted in favor and the motion carried.
