 City of Sesser City Council met Nov. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A special meeting of the Sesser City Council was held on Thursday, November 2, 2023. It was held at City Hall and the meeting was called to order by Mayor Ashmore at 5:30 PM.

Roll call was called by Clerk Stacey and the following council members were present—Rose Bochantin, Wayne Shannon, Jeff Hamburger and David Bates. Those not in attendance were Travis Zettler and Dana Laur.

Agenda Item #1

Mayor Ashmore explained the resolution accepting the grant for the Illinois Housing Development Authority Strong Communities Program. A motion was made by Wayne Shannon and 2nd by David Bates to approve resolution #20-2023 a resolution to accept a grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority Strong Communities Program round 2. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

Agenda Item #2

Mayor Ashmore explained the resolution with the Delta Regional Authority Act of 2000. This resolution is for the purpose of applying for the 2023 Awards program cycle. A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Rose Bochantin to approve resolution #21-2023 a resolution with the Delta Regional Authority Act of 2000, for the purpose of applying for the awarding of funds for the 2023 Awards program cycle which would require our additional matching funds of $21,500.00 if awarded the grants, this resolution is to also authorize the mayor to execute the documents and these matching funds will be paid out of Home Rule fund and reimbursed by the TIF fund. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Jeff Hamburger to adjourn at 5:35 PM. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
