Employee issue update
Discussion of Jamie Long's salary. When we hired Jamie, she did not have a few of the certifications that Gail Patteau had. In light of that, we hired her at a little lower salary than I would have recommended otherwise. As requested, she has achieved those certifications to provide services to our students and staff that she could not when hired. An explanation of those and what they mean to the district can be found in Jamie’s email to me dated December 4, 2023.
A request for Nick Barclay to provide on-site IT support for our school at a cost to the district of $14 per day. I’ll better explain this request in closed session.

Approve a sick-day bank for an employee - we had 31 employees donate a day to Bill. I make a motion to approve the voluntary donation of one sick day per employee to a sick day bank for Bill Eastham.
Approve Board Policy 7:270- The attorney said adding the oxygen is optional. I recommend we omit that language. I make a motion to approve Board Policy 7:270 as presented.

Approve FY2024 Tax Levy- I make a motion to approve the FY2024 Tax Levy as presented.
Consider approval of a contract with XT Solutions -XT is currently working without a contract. The increases over the life of the contract are fair. I recommend we approve the contract. I make a motion to approve the contract with XT Solutions as presented.
Consider approval of an estimate for Bevis Construction to install Acoustic grid ceilings in high school restrooms.-rather than paint the ceilings in the restrooms, I recommend we have these ceilings installed. This will hide some of the pipes at the top, improve lighting, and improve the overall appearance of the restrooms. I do not think the cost of not painting the ceilings will save us even half of the cost of installing the acoustic ceiling grids, but should cover some of the cost. The total cost for both restrooms is $2,780.
Review the certifications and hourly pay of the school nurse. I make a motion to approve an hourly increase in pay for Jamie Long to $____ per hour.
Discussion regarding HVAC projects in the high school and elementary gyms. The cost of the HVAC upgrade is going to be about $30,000 per unit installed (before architect fees). Three units are needed in the grade school. Four units are needed in the high school. Due to the maintenance grant, the grade school units will cost the district $45,000. The board will have to cover the entire cost of the high school project at an estimated cost of $130,000.
Provide the superintendent with the authority to hire a nighttime custodian and a paraprofessional.
