Superintendent Henry briefly described the policy review/committee process. New Business

Superintendent Henry summarized recommended modifications to the board policy manual (legal compliance updates, substantive modifications, and non-substantive rewrites of thirty-six (36) board policies). Superintendent Henry and board committee members reviewed one (1) PRESS policy manual update (Issue # 113 dated October, 2023). The Committee reviewed and discussed each policy considered for substantive updates and reviewed policies considered for non-substantive updates (revised legal references/cross references/style changes).

The Committee agreed by unanimous consent to recommend the revised policies to the full board for approval at its regular February, 2024, meeting.

Board President Sample presented and the Committee discussed a possible revision to Board Policy 7:60 to waive non-resident tuition for students who are children of district employees. The Committee asked Superintendent Henry to gather additional information (including how the Illinois State Board of Education allots Evidence-Based Funding to districts for non-resident students for whom tuition is waived) for the Committee to consider before a decision is made. Superintendent Henry indicated that he would do so, and that he would provide that information to President Sample in an effort to recuse himself from the issue due to a personal conflict.

Adjournment

The meeting adjourned by unanimous consent at 9:37 PM.
