City of Sesser City Council met March 6.

A special meeting was held by the Sesser City Council on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at City Hall. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM by Mayor Ashmore.
Roll Call was taken by Clerk Stacey as follows: Rose Bochantin—here, Dana Laur—absent, Wayne Shannon—here, Travis Zettler—here, Jeff Hamburger—here, David Bates—here.
Agenda Item #3
A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Wayne Shannon to accept the resignation of City Treasurer Janette Dilliner. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
Agenda Item #2
A motion was made by Jeff Hamburger and seconded by Travis Zettler to approve the appointment of Dena Fox as Treasurer of the City of Sesser effective immediately at the rate of $17.50 per hour with 100% insurance and other benefits as stated by ordinance. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
Agenda Item #1
A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Jeff Hamburger to approve Resolution # 8-2024 to appoint Jason Ashmore as the authorized IMRF Agent for the City of Sesser for now and delegate and give Dena Fox full access to IMRF as suggested by IMRF. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
Agenda Item #4
A motion was made by Travis Zettler and seconded by Rose Bochantin to remove Janette Dilliner from all accounts at the State Bank of Whittington and the Du Quoin State Bank as well as reaffirm that the signers for the City of Sesser accounts are as follows: Wayne Shannon—alderman, Mari Montgomery—water clerk, and Dena Fox—treasurer for all accounts at the Du Quoin State Bank and at the State Bank of Whittington and still require two signatures on all checks, and to give Dena Fox access viewing online banking to all accounts at both banking institutions listed above. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Rose Bochantin to adjourn at 5:15 PM. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
