In the pursuit of transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at North Egypt News have requested specific records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The requested information includes a list of all council members with specific details such as their names, titles, years of appointment, term lengths (2 or 4 years), and term expiry dates.
We believe that access to this information is crucial for our role in gathering and reporting news to the public. As media professionals committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver for this request.
