FOIA Request to City Of West Frankfort Finance Department Regarding Sales Tax Records on October 25, 2024.
In our continued efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at North Egypt News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City Of West Frankfort Finance Department in Illinois.
The records requested pertain to sales tax collected from retailers starting from January 1, 2024, up until the present date. Specifically, we have asked for information regarding the amount of sales tax collected each month compared with projected figures. Additionally, we are seeking data on the number of active retail locations paying sales tax each month.
We have also requested the names of each retailer and their respective gross retail sales reported for each month within this period. This detailed information will allow us to examine trends in retail activity and government revenue collection in West Frankfort.
