Ewing Northern Community Consolidated School District 115 Board met Oct. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Board President Jonathan Edwards.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards,

MEMBERS ABSENT: Ryan Skibo, Pokey Squires, Emanuel Lowe

VISITORS PRESENT: Emily Munoz

PRESIDENT COMMENTS: *The Board would like to thank all the parents and community members for attending Open House. It was a huge success.

The Music program was wonderful and showcased our talent.

*The Board would also like to thank ENSO for setting up the backdrop and helping to re-structure the Open House.

*Parent/Teacher Conferences will be October 22 and October 24 from 2:00-6:00.

*The Halloween parade will be Thursday, October 31st at 1:00pm.

*Basketball will have their first home game on Wednesday, Oct 24th.

*The band will be marching in the Christopher Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 26 at 7:00pm.

*We will host a Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8 at 2:00pm in the gym.

*Congratulations to the Cross Country Team on an outstanding season. Hudson Munoz and Eli Minor both qualified for state. Eli finished 17th overall and Hudson finished 65th overall out of 132 runners. Congratulations to both runners.

*Congratulations to the following students to being selected to the District 6 Junior ILMEA Festival through auditions:

Caleb Weinbauer-ILMEA Junior Mixed Choir

Isaac Pritchard- ILMEA Junior Mixed Choir

Georgie Shurtz- ILMEA Junior Treble Choir

Kaylee Kirkpatrick- ILMEA Junior Treble Choir

All will perform at Belleville West High School on Nov 23rd.

VISITORS COMMENT: Emily Munoz stated it has been a really great start to the school year so far.

Consent agenda MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to approve the consent agenda; 2nd by Caleb Suver. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

LEA SE Determination MOTION by Jake Page to approve the LEA Special Education Determination as presented by Mrs. Ing. 2nd Jonathan Edwards. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

School Report Card Mrs. Ing presented information she received from ISBE regarding the new School Report Card. It will be released to the public on October 30, 2024 on the website: www. Illinoisreportcard.com.

Building Inspection Mrs. Ing presented information from the annual ROE Building Inspection.

Gym Lighting MOTION by Caleb Suver to approve the $3,300 quote from Jarvis Electric and $1,400 quote from Ameren to update the gym lights to LED. 2nd by Jonathan Edwards. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

Admin CPDP MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to approve the 2024-2025 Administrator Continuing Professional Development Plan. 2nd by Karla Gunter. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

Into executive session MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to go into executive session to discuss the assignment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2 ©(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057. 2nd by Jake Page. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards). In at 7:35pm.

Regular session MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to come out of executive session and go into regular session: 2nd by Jake Page. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards. Out at 8:14 pm.

Hiring MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to hire Justin Billington as the JV Basketball Coach. 2nd by Jake Page. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to hire Trystin Massa as a one-on one aide in the Kindergarten classroom for the 2024-2025 school year. 2nd by Caleb Suver. 4 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Caleb Suver, Jonathan Edwards).

November Meeting The November Board Meeting time will be moved to 5:00pm due to scheduling conflicts.
