A regular board meeting was held on October 17, 2024 at Woodlawn High School. The meeting was called to order by Jeff Burkett at 6:00 pm. Roll Call was taken with the above members present. Also Present: Eric Helbig, Sandra Kabat, Chris Braden, Amy Orrill, Joe Lamachhia, Erin King.

Visitor Communication: None.

A motion was made by Kyle Ritchey and seconded by Chase Phelps to go into closed session at 6:08 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity (5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) and Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. (5 ILCS 120/2 ©, (2)).

A motion as made by Jacob Frick and seconded by Chad Phelps to return to open session at 6:45 p.m.

Item VIII 1. Denial of Admission was tabled.

A motion was made by Chase Phelps and seconded by Kyle Ritchey to hire Rachel Long as night custodian on Column A Step 20.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chad Phelps and seconded by Jacob Frick to reassign Kris Hodge as WHS Algebra Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chase Phelps and seconded by Jacob Frick to accept Baylie McKenzie’s leave of absence for 1/13-5/7, 2025.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Jacob Frick and seconded by Kyle Ritchey to approve the 2nd reading of the WGS Handbook Changes.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Kyle Ritchey and seconded by Chase Phelps to approve board policy update 2nd reading.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Jacob Frick and seconded by Chad Phelps to approve the 2025 WHS electrical bid from Purcell Electric for $403975.00.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

Item VIII 6. Shores change order was tabled.

A motion was made by Kyle Ritchey and seconded by Jacob Frick to approve Shores pay app #2 in the amount of $209697.12.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chad Phelps and seconded by Chase Phelps to approve Baer pay app #4 in the amount of $4674.60.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Jacob Frick and seconded by Kyle Ritchey to approve the 2024 Administrator/Teacher salary report.
