Report: Waltonville spent $9,454 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Waltonville Community Unit School District 1 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $9,099 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,454 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 371 to 374.

Waltonville's spending in 2016-17 was 27 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
