Report: Bethel spent $9,170 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Bethel School District 82 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $9,515 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,170 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 163 to 195.

Bethel's spending in 2016-17 was 29 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
