There were 23 Black students enrolled in Franklin County school districts in the 2023-24 school year, 27.8% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that Black students made up 0.4% of the 5,503 students in the county. They were the least represented ethnicity.

Among the nine districts in Franklin County, Frankfort Community Unit School District 168 recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 23 students.
