Report: Sesser-Valier spent $9,427 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District 196 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Franklin County school district spent $8,712 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,427 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 737 to 682.

Sesser-Valier's spending in 2016-17 was 27 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
