Report: Akin spent $14,237 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Akin Community Consolidated School District 91 is up 21.6 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Franklin County school district spent $11,709 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $14,237 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 101 to 87.

Akin's spending in 2017-18 was 6.7 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
