Report: Benton spent $12,753 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Benton Community High School District 103 is up 6.9 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Franklin County school district spent $11,933 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,753 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 599 to 548.

Benton's spending in 2017-18 was 4.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
