Report: Summersville spent $8,646 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Summersville School District 79 is up 7.9 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $8,013 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,646 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 290 to 283.

Summersville's spending in 2017-18 was 35.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
