Former state university employee Scrivner paid in $18K to pension fund, could collect $257K in retirement

Former state university employee Bradley Scrivner, who retired in January 2017, saved $18,199 toward a pension over 10 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Scrivner would collect as much as $256,604, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes North Egypt News.

The projection assumes Scrivner received $5,393 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 4 years of retirement, Scrivner will have already received $22,564 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
