Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Mount Vernon convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Mount Vernon during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Egypt News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Mount Vernon were men. The younger parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2017. The other was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2014.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was David L. Puckett. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2014 when he was 35 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of crimes involving weapons.
