City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.
On October 7, 2019, the City of Mt. Vernon will begin a water main replacement project on Casey Avenue between S 20th St and S 22nd St. We will be installing new water main and water services.
During the project your water will be shut off to connect the water services to your home. The water may also be shut off for an emergency.
We will start removing the sidewalk on the south side of the street due to the new water main being installed under the sidewalk. The sidewalk will be replaced once the project has been completed.
Please do not park your vehicles on the south side of Casey Avenue. Thank you for your patience.
