EWING TOWNSHIP: Option To Post Specific Information On Websites For School Elections Under Pending Legislation

Election

Ewing Township issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.

Township clerks would have the option to post specific information on websites for school elections under pending legislation.

House Bill 4823 would provide townships clerks with an additional option for a ballot proposal for a school enhancement millage. Currently, a full listing of schools that would receive funding from a millage proposal is included on the ballot. However, with the expansion of the millage rules to include public school academies and intermediate school districts, the number of schools listed could expand to 120 schools for some ballots!

This bill would permit school districts and other constituent districts to be listed collectively as "public schools" for an enhancement millage question. If this option is chosen, the clerk would then be required to post a list of each school that would receive revenue from the millage if passed at the polling place and on its website.
