City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
Meter Reader With Duties In Water Must lift 80 pounds and ability to work around chlorine products utilizing protective equipment. Must be able to work around insects, reptiles, and animals that are confronted along a route. Must be able to use a tablet and/or laptop as well as installing and programming water meters. Must be able to work in inclement weather. Able to work call outs. $21.14 per hour. As a condition of employment, a CDL permit is required within 30 days of hire, CDL is required within 60 days of hire. Applications, currently on file less than one year, will be considered.
