City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on April 18.
Weekly update time! Illinois is in 10th place overall at 54.3%, and Jefferson County is 29th out of 102 Illinois counties at 57.4%. We still have a ways to go, and we need everyone to be counted! How much of your federal tax dollars come back into your own community is decided by this census. Be sure our schools, hospitals, emergency responders, food assistance, Medicare/Medicaid, and so many more programs get the funding they need!
