City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on May 8.
Overall, the numbers in Jefferson County have really slowed down. We are probably still 2 months away from the US Census Bureau sending their employees door-to-door to count those who haven't self-responded. Encourage your neighbors, friends, and family to complete their 2020 Census now so they don't have to worry with someone coming to their door!
This time we've included breakdowns by township, census tract, and incorporated areas. Feel free to share and tag away and help get our numbers as close to 100% as possible! Every person counts as a dollar amount our community will receive in state and federal funding over the next TEN YEARS. Let's make the voices of Jefferson County heard!
