Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District 196 Board of Education met April 28.

CALL TO ORDER

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 was held in the Sesser-Valier High School Library at 6:00 PM. The meeting was called to order by President Teresa Stacey at 6:00 PM. President Stacey appointed District Superintendent Jason Henry as recording secretary for the meeting.

ROLL CALL

District Superintendent Jason Henry called the roll with the following result:

Members Present:

Acosta (by phone), Hicks, Ketteman (by phone), Rounds, Schoenbaechler, Stacey

Members Absent: 

Loucks

NEW BUSINESS

Superintendent Henry summarized the recommended tentative amended budget for Fiscal Year 2020. He notified the board of an expected reduction in state funding, especially mandated categorical payments, due to the COVID-19 situation.

AUTHORIZATION/APPROVAL/SCHEDULE HEARING FOR FY20 TENTATIVE AMENDED BUDGET: A motion was made by Schoenbaechler and seconded by Rounds to authorize and display a tentative amended school district budget for Fiscal Year 2020, as presented, and schedule a budget hearing for Monday, June 8, 2020, at 5:55 PM.

Roll call voting was as follows:

Yeas:

Hicks, Ketteman, Rounds, Schoenbaechler, Stacey, Acosta

Nays:

None

There being six (6) yeas and zero (0) nays, the president declared that the motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Schoenbaechler and seconded by Rounds to adjourn.

Voting was as follows: All voted yea. There being six (6) yeas and zero (0) nays, the president declared that the motion carried.

The meeting adjourned at 6:05 PM.
