City of Zeigler issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.
Franklin County Government will institute a temporary NO BURNING ORDER (BURN BAN) today, October 17th, 2020 from 10AM to 7PM. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for high winds and dry weather conditions. Conditions will make open outside burning extremely dangerous.
Some Fire Departments have already issued local burn bans that are also in effect that may extend past the deadline for this Countywide no burning order. Please check with your local Fire Department for information on local burn bans and/or applicable ordinances.
