Waltonville Community Unit #1 Board of Education met Nov. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Regular Board meeting called to order at 6:30 P.M. Present: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Absent: Walker.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham, to approve the minutes of the Regular Board meeting for October 22nd, 2020. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham, to approve the closed session minutes of the October 22nd, 2020. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Easthamn, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham, to approve the Treasurers report and the additional bills of $13,438.00. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Correspondence by Amanda Gajewski read during meeting regarding her FOIA request. Andy Janello, Vice President of WEA requested a copy of the FOIA for the Union. The board let him know he would have to make a written request.

Update on landscaping for the High school.

Motion by Eastham, Seconded by Anderson, to accept the resignation of Cheryl Devor as School Board Member. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Discussion of Tax Levy, no action taken.

Motion by Eastham, Seconded by Anderson, to approve the Risk Management Plan. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Eastham, Seconded by Norris, to approve the RIF List. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Norris, Seconded by Webb, to approve the Evaluation MOA, Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Niki Wisniewski, WEA President, wanted notes to be added in minutes to clarify that #3 meant one formal with paperwork and one long informal without paperwork.

Motion by Eastham, Seconded by Anderson, to go into closed session at 7:00 P.M. for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity, and student discipline. 5 ILCS 120/2 (©) (1). Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham, to go into open session at 8:00 P.M. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Andy Janello, Athletic Director, informed Board as of November 19, 2020 per IHSA there will be no winter sports.

Discussion of appointment of School Board member to serve on FJSPED Governing Board. Tabled for December meeting.

Motion by Easthamn, Seconded by Anderson, to appoint Tusday Fassett as board member for the 2020-2021 school year. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Discussion of hiring District Paraprofessional employee. No action taken.

Motion by Norris, Seconded by Eastham to purchase $50 Kroger gift cards for staff, for Christmas. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham to amend additional bills to include Home City Ice of $565.00. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Athletic Director's report given by Andy Janello.

Assistant Athletic Director's report by Garrett Wingo.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Eastham, to adjourn at 8:18 P.M. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, and Norris. Nay: None. Motion Carried.
