City of Mt. Vernon City Council Met April 5.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

5. Presentation of Journals for the March 15, 2021 Public Hearing and the March 15, 2021 Regular City Council Meeting. 

6. Visitors/Citizen Request/Addresses from the Audience. 

Public Forum Rules of Participation Participants wishing to address the City Council on matters listed on the agenda or on any other matter directly relevant to the business of the City of Mt. Vernon shall do so during the Public Participation portion of the agenda. Each person wishing to speak during the Public Participation portion shall sign a Speaker's List at the meeting prior to the start of the meeting providing his/her name and the topic to be discussed. Speakers will be recognized by the Mayor in the order the speaker's name appears on the Speaker's List. Public participation portion of the meeting shall be limited to five (5) minutes per person. All participants are expected to exercise common courtesy and follow any rules of order established or announced by the Mayor and/or City Council.

9-A Request permission to close various streets for the Mt. Vernon Fall Fest events to be held September 23-September 26, 2021 

9-B Street closure request: 9th Street between Main and Harrison on June 5, 2021 from 5pm-10pm for Webber High School prom 

9-C Street closure request: 9th Street between Jordan and Casey on August 7, 2021 from 9am-6pm for Mt. Vernon Homebrewers Festival 

9-D Street closure request: 9th Street between Main and Harrison on November 6, 2021 from 3pm-10pm for the Jefferson Co. Chamber of Commerce 

10. CITY ATTORNEY 

10-A Public hearing and resolution approving agreement to annex real estate at 9822 E. Richview Road owned by Caleb and Tiffany Johnson 

10-B Resolution to reclassify certain water, sewer, garbage, and corporate accounts for accounting purposes. 

10-C Resolution approving a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the historic preservation of the L&N water tower 

10-D Resolution requesting IDOT approval for temporary closure of IL 15 westbound from Marlow Rd. (FAS 789) to Junction of IL 15 & Old Rt. 15 at east edge of Mt. Vernon for purpose of "Salute to Freedom" Fireworks Display on July 4, 2021. 

10-E Resolution requesting permission from IDOT to close State Route 15 and 37 on September 25, 2021 from 12pm-4pm for the Fall Fest Parade 

11. MAYOR 

11-A Reappoint of Larry Sidwell, Sarah Sledge, Bill Pixley, and Joyce Secrest to the Mt. Vernon Tourism Advisory Board
