Woodlawn Unit School District #209 Board of Education met Aug. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A special board meeting was held at Woodlawn High School. The meeting  was called to order by Scott Owens at 6:00 pm. Roll Call was taken with the above members present. Also Present: Theresa McMahon, Chelsey Farmer, Ashley Spofford, Jenn Gentles, Ami Pierce, Nick Pierce, Cade Pierce, Liam Pierce, Dana Flota, Shelley Brooks, Cindy Isaac, Gloria Mandrell, Stacey Wielt, Lori Maharrey, Chloe Dudley, Jon Dudley, Abbi Reynolds, Katie Feasel, Melissa Hefner, Kristi Hester, Chris Hale, Erin Hale, Dawn Owens, Shawn Hubbard, Brittany Misinch, Shawn Williams, Jacob Frick, Erika Phelps.

Shelly Brooks, Katie Feasel, Theresa McMahon, Ashley Spofford, Abbi Reynolds, Jen Gentles, Ami Pierce, Lori Maharrey, Melissa Hefner, Stacey Wielt, Jacob Frick, Chelsea Farmer, Dawn Owens all spoke to the board.

A motion was made by Chad Phelps and seconded by Michele Chesnek to approve the return to school plan with masks recommended, noting the superintendents recommendation was to follow state mandate.

Members voted by a roll call vote:

Members voting yes: Scott Owens, Chad Phelps, Michele Chesnek, Steve Danner 

Members voting no: Jeff Burkett, Dianne Fritschle

Motion carried.

Discussion on extending the bond took place but no action was taken.

A motion was made by Jeff Burkett and seconded by Michele Chesnek to adjourn at 8:12 p.m. 

Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Chad Phelps, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes; Dianne Fritschle, yes;

Motion carried.
