State Sen. Dale Fowler wants to know what’s on the minds of the people he represents.
Fowler is set to join fellow state Sens. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville) on Oct. 7 at Anna-Jonesboro Community High as part of their ongoing Regional Listening Tour.
The group is promoting the 6 p.m. gathering as an opportunity for downstate residents to be heard on the issues most critical to them and their communities.
"Mark your calendars,” Bryant posted on Facebook. “Together, Senator Fowler, Senator Plummer and I represent over two dozen of Southern Illinois’ counties. We have such unique, diverse communities and represent residents who have different needs and perspectives. They all deserve to have a voice in their state government.”
Bryant said the decision for the group to come together to hear out their constituents was an easy one.
“I wanted to host this event so that the collective voices of Southern Illinois could be heard by their lawmakers and to help us as legislators better represent the interest of Southern Illinois in the Senate," she added.
Serving as the minority spokesperson on both the Senate Commerce and Higher Education committees, Fowler has served the 59th District since 2017.
