Report: Benton School District spent $12,685 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Benton Community High School District 103 was down 1.9 percent from five years ago, according to the North Egypt News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Franklin County school district spent $12,928 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,685 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 597 to 551 students over the same period.

Benton's spending in 2019-20 was 12.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
