Sen. Terri Bryant spends some time at Ewing School talking to the young kids about government.
Bryant took some time to speak with students at Ewing School about government and how it works.
"Really enjoyed talking government this morning at Ewing School in Ewing, IL. What a great class of young people," said Bryant.
This isn't the first time that Bryant has focused on the youths in her district. In 2021, she held her first youth advisory council session. That youth advisory council is meant to help students learn about public policy, how state government works, and leadership. Each high school within the 58th Senate District was able to nominate high school students who they believed showed an interest in government and public service.
In December 2021, about the Youth Advisory Council, Bryant said: "It was truly exciting to see the students focused and engaged throughout the entire day," said Bryant. "I am hopeful that today's Youth Advisory Council provided these students with a better understanding on how our state government works, but more importantly I hope they learned that each of them has a voice in the process."
As part of Bryant's April 2022 visit to Ewing School, she had to visit a very important team in the school. She said: "Of course, I also always seek out the lunch ladies at each school. We all know how important they are to our kids!!"
