In a recent Facebook post, Illinois state Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) shared a visit to Mt. Carmel. He also took to social media to shine a light on other events in the community where he was present.
"Senator Terri Bryant and I enjoyed a trip to Mt. Carmel tonight to meet with Mayor Joe Judge and Canadian Consulate General Aaron Anable for a Consulates Recognition Dinner honoring the dignitary for coming to Mt. Carmel to lay a wreath at a cemetery of an American soldier who fought alongside Canadian soldiers," Severin said. "We HONOR veterans."
Additionally, the representative shared that he was present for the monthly food distribution in Sesser.
"Monthly food distribution in Sesser was a success," he said on Facebook. "Great volunteerism on display by students from Sesser-Valier High School."
And on Veterans Day, Severin shared yet another message for the Waltonville community.
"Thank you Waltonville for hosting myself and Senator Terri Bryant and many others for today's #VeteransDay parade and appreciation ceremony," he said on Facebook. "Great patriotism on display in honor of America's service men and women!"
Severin ran uncontested in the Nov. 8 general election to represent the people of the 116th District.
