COUGARS BLOW AWAY MAPLE LEAFS IN BIG WIN

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team (14-13, 7-10 CL) defeated Goshen College (3-24, 1-16 CL) by a score of 99-68 on Tuesday, February 14.

The Cougars started the game off hot by building a large lead and they never looked back. MVNU shot 53.2% (33-62) from the field and held Goshen to 38.8% shooting defensively.

 

Inside the Box Score

Kyle Kegley led the Cougars with 21 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

Hallvard Staff had 15 points and eight rebounds on the night.

Clay Hilliard scored 11 points and had three rebounds, two assists, and two steals on the night.

TC Molk had 11 points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Kade Ruegsegger contributed with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

 

Coach Ronai's Thoughts

"All road games bring certain challenges in our league and our guys were locked in for 40 minutes. Our guys have more within them and we're looking forward to getting better tomorrow."

 

What's Next

The Cougars will return home to Ariel Arena on Saturday, February 18 for the season finale against Indiana Wesleyan University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm and the men's basketball program will be honoring its seniors before the game starts.
