Ewing Northern Community Consolidated School District 115 Board of Education met Jan. 19.

Meeting was called to order at 6:31 P.M. by Board President Adam Allsopp.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jonathon Edwards, Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Adam Allsopp, Emmanuel Lowe, and Pokey Squires.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Shannon Webb
Visitors present: Joni Page and Allison Stubblefield
President’s Comments: Congratulations to the Competition Cheer Team. They qualified for state and will compete on Sunday, January 22nd. Volleyball Parent Game will be Jan. 26, 2023. First volleyball game will be Feb 7th. Basketball Regionals will begin on Jan. 24 at Spring Garden.
We have used 1 Emergency day. As of today, the last day of school will be May 23rd.
Mrs. Ing would like to thank Page Farms for the donation of the rolling flag for the gym.

Consent Agenda: MOTION by Adam Allsopp to approve the Consent agenda. A. Approve minutes of the regular meeting/closed session meeting December 19, 2022. B. Approve to pay bills. C. Accept the Treasurers Report D. Review closed session minutes: a semi-annual review of closed session minutes from July 2022 to December 2022 will be conducted at the meeting. E. Destroy Closed Meeting Audio Recording from January 2020 to June 2020. 2nd by Jonathan Edwards. 6 ayes (Karla Gunter, Pokey Squires, Jake Page, Emmanuel Lowe, Adam Allsopp and Jonathon Edwards).
Mid-Year Budget: Mrs. Ing discussed the Mid-Year Budget Report from dates of July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. She updated the board on the grants that the District currently is using. ESSER III (building), Maintenance Grant, ESSER II, Digital Equity, Title I & II, Homeless Grant
Set Dates: Mrs. Ing presented an update of activities, calendar, and set Graduation Date. MOTION by Jake Page to set the Class of 2023 Graduation date as May 18, 2023 at 6:00pm outside. 2nd by Pokey Squires. 6 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Pokey Squires, Adam Allsopp, Emmanuel Lowe, and Jonathon Edwards).
Update on Building: Mrs. Ing updated the board on current progress of the building project, schedules and materials. No action taken.
E-Rate Cat 1 & 2: Mrs. Ing presented the board with the E-rate Category 1 and Category 2 funding projects.
School Wellness Policy: Mrs. Ing presented School Wellness Policy to the board. No changes were made.
Executive Session: MOTION by Adam Allsopp to go into Executive Session to discuss: A. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2©(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057. 2nd by Jonathan Edwards 6 ayes (Jake Page, Pokey Squires, Karla Gunter, Adam Allsopp, Emmanuel Lowe, Jonathon Edwards). Time in: 7:58pm.
MOTION by Jonathon Edwards to exit Executive Session and return to Regular Session. 2nd by Pokey Squires. 4 ayes (Jake Page, Karla Gunter, Pokey Squires and Jonathon Edwards). Time out: 9:55pm.
Other: Karla Gunter presented information regarding a grant for PE equipment. Mrs. Ing presented information regarding the purchase of a new laminator.
