Q2 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Jefferson County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of sex crimes living in Jefferson County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Egypt News.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 47. The younger parolee was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Billy G. Sullivan. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 50 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
