Waltonville Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met March 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Regular meeting called to order at 6:29 P.M. Present: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Absent: Anderson.

Motion by Lamke, Seconded by Klingler to go into closed session at 6:29 P.M. for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity, and student discipline. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Kash, Seconded by Osborn to approve the consent agenda. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Fassett, Seconded by Klingler to approve the resignation of Hillary Sheridan as Junior High Math Teacher at the end of school year 2024-2025. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Kash, Seconded by Osborn to approve the resignation of Benay Walker as Grade School Principal effective June 30, 2025. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Osborn, Seconded by Kash to approve the resignation of Anthony Lowery as Junior High Assistant Baseball Coach. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Fassett, Seconded by Lamke to re-hire the following tenure teachers: Carrie Mayville, Dawn Hamson, Chad Harper, Barbara Michelle Miller, Lori Frank, Colene Stanley, Michelle Miller, Anthony Lowery, Daryl Kiselewski, Carolyn Phillips, Hannah Bradshaw, Jo Chapman, Nicole Wynn, Bethany Anderson. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Klingler, Seconded by Fassett to grant tenure and rehire the following teachers: Lisa Kiselewski, Autumn Konkel, Jasie McPhail, Isaac McPhail, Jackie Hoffard, John Walker. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Klingler, Seconded by Kash to re-hire 2nd year probationary teacher: Holli Hodge. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Kash, Seconded by Klingler to re-hire 1st year probationary teachers: Jaice McCowen, Jaid Burkett, Nealia Lewis, Loryn Carpenter. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Klingler, Seconded by Fassett to approve the non-certified staff recall list as presented. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Abstain: Lamke. Motion Carried.

Motion by Fassett, Seconded by Kash to approve changes to the district calendar for 2024-2025 school year. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Lamke, Seconded by Osborn to approve the Illinois High School Association Membership. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Osborn, Seconded by Klingler to approve the FY26 Consolidated District Plan. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Osborn, Seconded by Klingler to approve a special board meeting for Wednesday April 2nd, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. Yea: Fassett, Kash, Klingler, Lamke, Norris, and Osborn. Nay: None. Motion Carried.
