City of Sesser City Council met June 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A special meeting of the Sesser City Council was held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Sesser City Hall. Mayor Ashmore called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM.

Clerk Stacey called the roll: Dana Laur—absent, Wayne Shannon—here, Rose Bochantin—here, Travis Zettler—here, David Bates—here, Jeff Hamburger—absent.

Agenda Item #1

Mayor Ashmore explained the DRA grant that the city has been awarded. A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Wayne Shannon to designate and appoint Jason Ashmore, Mayor, to perform all duties and administration of the DRA grant award. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Travis Zettler and seconded by Rose Bochantin to provide additional funds in the amount of $64,347.50 to said award. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Travis Zettler that in the event of an administration change, the new Mayor shall continue to have such authority under this Resolution—Resolution #9-2025. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Wayne Shannon to approve and pass Resolution #9-2025 in its entirety. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Bates and seconded by Wayne Shannon to adjourn the meeting at 5:49 PM. All those in attendance were in favor of the motion. Motion carried.
